Go to Admin Panel -> Components -> Weblinks -> Weblink Categories.

Add blogroll as new category.

Alternatively, to use existing Weblink Category (for example, <xxx&gt,

Go to Admin Panel -> Modules -> Site Modules

Click on BlogSidebar, In the parameters section, search for blogroll/Weblink Category. Replace "blogroll" with <xxx>.

Re: Error after installing BlogSidebar 2 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I just installed the latest component and module and am getting the errors described elsewhere with no fixes. I am using Joomla 1.0.10 . When I install I'm told that there is no configuration required. Now I see there is - I'm very confused. Do you have a manual of some sort that clearly documents how to use this?

BTW, what is the archive you've got listed by month? That's great!

Answer to this is already posted 2 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
1. About configuration requirements...
There is no configuration requirement for BlogSidebar Component
    BlogSidebar Module must be configured

2. As stated in the beginning of this topic, this problem is discussed and resolution is posted. Infact, this problem is already discussed multiple times..

3. For month based archive, please use Joomla! module mod_archive.

Thanks

Re: Error after installing BlogSidebar 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Discussed multiple times, but still clear as mud.

If I remove the physical objects from the file structure after deleting them in joomla, can I reliably get back to where I was before I started with this install? The rest of the joomla install and setup was a snap compared to this.

To reiterate an earlier question: is there a single point of documentation that could step a qualified, experienced technical person thru the install - making no assumptions of knowledge of the internals of the processing and/or programming?

My goal is to get something that I can present to a client - not to learn PHP.

A simple step-by-step document, like a README or something would be nice to accompany the zip files.

First I got the same SQL error as stated before by davidloknl and vnative.

Then I added "blogroll" in Weblinks Category, as it was written by you.. After that I searched in bolgsidebar module the field "weblink category to use" and I wrote "blogroll" in it.

But now I get a new error at my blogroll module position, although I made it like you wrote here:
"Invalid query: Whole query: SELECT title, url FROM #__weblinks WHERE catid=161 AND published = 1"

I would appreciate, if you may help me with this matter.
