Yesterday, I was performing optimization task on MySQL tables manually and mistake.. oh my mistake, I corrupted the database. One command was enough!! And I even didn't backup my database.
Thanks to DreamHost . They have automatic backup and I was able to restore within 5-10 minutes but 5-10 minutes were enough for me to stressed out.
Lesson Learned...
- Always create backup before doing anything with MySQL
- Better yet, do not directly operate on MySQL
- Have local copy of MySQL and play with that first, create script. Rerun script on local, double check for error... and so on.
I am glad that I decided to stay with DreamHost!!

Original Article can be read at U.S. engineering education needs hardware focus and is written by George Leopold, EE Times (04/03/2006 3:04 PM EDT)
Current U.S. engineering education is strong on software but lacking in hardware, often because teachers lack practical experience in hardware design, an industry executive asserted.
Thanh Tran, hardware productization manager for Texas Instruments Inc.'s Semiconductor Group in Houston, said in an interview here Monday (April 3) that many engineering students he encounters have good software skills.
This is the issue in India as well. VLSI industry in India, is paying more perks to engineers as against their counterpart in software industry.

The Bhagavad Gita describes the mind as turbulent and obstinate.
'The Chariot of the Body': The five horses represent the five senses
(tongue, eyes, nose, ears and skin). The rein symbolises the mind, the
driver is the intelligence while the passenger is the spirit soul.

BlogSidebar 2.0 Roadmap:
- Modular structure mean you can change location of each sections
- Content Item listing based on day (will be shown in navigatable calender format) Done
- Monthly Listing archive/entry lists (Dropped, see below)
From previous entry (bulleted)....
-
If allow
calender to change/navigate from month to month then Monthly Listing is not required.
Monthly Listing is being dropped!!
- But
for that, I guess that component has to be written to pass "current" month information to BlogSideBar.
Done without writing special component. Go to SVTechie Blog to see Demo. Now information is passed by _GET variable and passing variable to indicate month to display with respect to current month.
com_content needs to be modify to support/show content listing based on a day.
-
Require some help in form of ideas/suggestions.
Things are okay for now but any help is appreciated in improving BlogSidebar2.0
2.0 rc1 is still being tested. Contact me if you want to test it!!
Good News.. Download RC1 here.
